Hess'
principal media are sculpture and freestanding or bas relief portraits, figures
and abstracts in bronze, aluminum, terra cotta and wood, as well as portraits
on canvas.

Her
specialties include large commissioned bronze bas reliefs with which she demonstrates
an extraordinary ability to capture the spirit and presence of her subjects.

Hess'
work is included in many permanent public and private collections throughout
the Midwest and East and West Coasts including the permanent collection at the
University of Dayton.
She
has been involved in numerous invitational and juried exhibitions in addition
to seven one-woman shows during the course of her career. Her works are included
in the International Sculpture Center in Washington DC and the two-year Cinergy
Traveling Exhibition throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
She
received the Ohioana Library Lifetime Citation Award in 1994 for Distinguished
Service to Ohio in the field of Art as Painter and Sculptor as well as many
